A MATCH MADE IN GYM MARKETING HEAVEN + $500 OFF YOUR FIRST MONTH FOR 12 LUCKY GYM OWNERS?

We'll get straight to the point: if you're ready to explore working with the marketing vendor trusted by absolute titans of our industry - folks like Vince Gabriele, Mark Fisher, the Alloy Personal Training Franchise (we service over 90% of their active locations at this point), Mark Ehnis (7 gyms in MI), Connor Flahive (6 gyms in IL), Giancarlo Regni (5 gyms in PA), John Farkas (4 gyms in MO), and countless more absolute world beaters - you're in the right place.

Just book a super high-pressure call with our squad and we'll tell you all about it ;)

Jokes aside, your next step is to book a time to chat with our team about where you're at now, where you're trying to go, and if/how we can help you get there. NOTE: we practice a pretty novel concept in this industry called "actually help the person on the other side FIRST" and we only invite about a third of the gym owners we talk to to actually work with us. We won't pressure you. We won't waste your time.

*Again, we talk most of the folks we chat with OUT of giving us their money - this paid ads stuff isn't for everyone. The entire goal of the "high pressure call" is to point ya in the right direction, whether we ever work together "officially" or not.

When the grizzled old gym owner buddies get the band back together: let's just say Vince & I go waaaay back (I haven't used Voxer for almost 10 years).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We'll try to answer as much as we can for you here, but in the (totally normal) event that we haven't hit 100% of your questions on the nose, we highly encourage you to book a call w/ our team. Truth be told we invite less than 40% of the gym owners we talk to to work with us - because sometimes the timing, the market, or fit just isn't right (and that's totally okay!). We'll be transparent and let you know what we think on your call ❤️

"I know y'all do a LOT, but can you hit me with a quickie summary of what exactly you do at GMM?"

100%! In short we're your gym's growth (read: new member getting) partner.

Done-for-you FB & Meta and ads (with a fun combo of best practices from what we see working best in gyms around the world sprinkled in with some of the special sauce that makes your gym unique.

Complete playbooks, resources, and coaching on how to get the most out of your new digital leads (best practices for high-converting follow-up, how to have effective appointment setting & sales calls, scripts, resources, and role play "office hours") to help you or (even MORE fun) the person on your team you delegate follow-up to, make your marketing efforts as profitable as possible for you

Done-for-you beautiful conversion & search-engine-optimized websites customized for you and your gym. (PS: we know there are lot of other website providers, built mostly with cookie-cutter, templated sites that do nothing to help you stand out from the competition. Our sites are lightning fast (SUPER important for playing well w/ Google btw), beautiful, and we do the work for you. Want something changed? You don't try to learn how to make updates or fill out a copy block, we just knock it out for you, fast. Time and money saved, my friends!

Done-for-you automation suite - included! We'll do a full white-glove setup of your initial lead nurture automations, booking funnels, “more to show” thank you pages, booking reminder sequences, etc. A little picky about messaging? Totally cool - we'll shoot you a doc w/ the automation templates, you can edit to your heart's content and our team will install your edits for you before we launch.

DFY (completely) setup of database reactivation campaigns (text & email campaigns designed to mine the diamonds (e.g. get the clients) already sitting in your backyard (your list). We've had database reactivation campaigns pay for the entire year of working with us 🤷‍♂️

Hyper responsive service & success team in your very own private slack channel for you & your business to interface w/ our team. This is where all of our non-call comms happen and gives you a direct line to our team of gym growth experts. We pride ourselves on speed and responsiveness (it’s one of the most common compliments we get from folks who come to us from other agencies/marketing vendors).

“There's some crazy contract or agreement right??? The "big guys" are forcing annual paid-in-fulls, financing, or locking everyone into crazy contracts right now”

Nope. We have flexible payment options (most do monthly or weekly) and you've got an open door to leave whenever you want (we've got a super simple 30-day notice cancellation policy and we're still at about 2% monthly churn [closer to 1% if you don't count clients we fire ourselves] for the past five years or so).

“How soon can i get started and what's the timeline for launch”

Assuming we're not waitlisted I'd book your intro (*cough* SUPER high pressure get-to-know-you call cough) call asap, if we all think it's a fit we'll shoot you a payment link, an onboarding form, and the magic kicks off from there. Timeline for launch (automation & ads)  is typically within 7 days of signup if you get your tech & strategy calls booked right away. Websites take anywhere from 3-5 weeks.

******The biggest bottleneck for launch right this second is A2P10DLC registration & approvals for usage of the automated texting system. Unfortunately this is an industry wide (meaning ALL industries using automated texting; not just the fitness or marketing industry) issue and, although our team is up to date and on the cutting edge of SOPs and compliance w/ these processes, sometimes there's a lag on approvals that can push back automated text launches and the like.

“Got a guarantee?”

Sure do - conditionally unconditional better-than-your-money back guarantee. If you hit the conditions below and you're not happy for whatever reason or you like screwing over prematurely graying girl dads we'll give you 100% of your money back plus $500 for your trouble:

1. Gotta get your tech stuff to us w/in 72 business hours of signup. We make this super easy and do all the button clicking for you on a Zoom call, so no worries if you're tech illiterate or don't know where your FB biz manager is.

2. Get your strategy call done w/ us w/in 72 business hours of signup. (So we can customize your plan and get your strategy over to our ads team asap).

3. This is the gotcha! Call all non-booked leads a minimum of 5 times within the first 3 days of them becoming a lead. Double dialing counts as one. This must be done on our CRM so it can be verified and we can review quality of the calls, coach up your follow up staff if necessary, etc.

4. Another gotcha: If you're not closing/not happy, record at least two closing conversations and submit for review prior to your 21-day mark with us (so we have a chance to figure out why you're not closing and fix it).

Long story short if you don't want to work your leads or have someone (like us) do it for you, don't do any cold traffic (with us or anyone). If you're ready, do your part and if you're not happy, we've got your back.

“How many leads am I gonna get?”

We don’t know. Every local market is different. There are some markets where you can do everything right, do all of the ninja marketing shit people like me say to scare people like you and still be stuck with $30, $40, $50 leads (maybe more!).

There are other markets where you can do literally everything wrong, throw up the worst ad in the world, with the worst images & creative, and still get super cheap leads.

So while I can’t guarantee you a given CPL (unfortunately there aren’t great predictive analytics for this either - e.g. there’s no magic formula for population density, income, etc. that let’s us tell you a predictive cost per lead with any certainty), I can tell you that we’ll be able to buy you traffic & leads as efficiently as possible in your market.

“How can you say you're the best at this cold traffic stuff? You sound like a bunch of cocky jerkoffs!??”

Good question. We’ve been in this game a long time (I was a trainer —> gym owner —> multiple gym owner from about 2007-2021) and have been doing marketing work/consulting for gym owners since about 2014.

During that time we had the opportunity to work with some pretty big name clients who put us through the ringer competing against the biggest names in the space.

Then, later, we built a reputation by being “the guys you go to when you can’t get anything else to work” in a Facebook group literally built on the foundation of “goo-roo” beheadings and bad reviews.

Long story short, we’ve seen it all. We’ve had to go head to head with or help clients who’ve come from every corner of the industry that found their happy growth partner home here at GMM.

That said (dream crushing time again), cold traffic is hard, and marketing is a little bit like the stock market - there may be up periods and down periods in the micro, but, in the macro, marketing is only likely to get more expensive over time. We’re sort of like your Warren Buffet for marketing investments - we’ll help you buy your traffic (stocks) at the best rates possible, as strategically as possible, based on the market conditions at the time.

"Okay so if you can't guarantee a cost-per-lead, what do you do if my market is hard?"

Long story short, we work with you to find a way to make the marketing math at every stage of the process.

Obviously we'll work like hell to make the ads work, but we'll also work with you to find the gaps & opportunities for improvement at every other stage of the process.

Having trouble getting leads to respond? Cool, let's work on it.

Crazy no shows? We've got recipes and playbooks for that.

Can't close? Awesome, we've got scripts, live coaching, call reviews, objection overcomes, etc. to get you and your team up to speed asap.

It's all about what makes the most for you and your individual situation.Truth is, we can't control how competitive your market or how expensive the eyeballs are in your area.

What we can do is give you a competitive advantage in comparison to your local competitors and get you traffic as efficiently & cost-effectively as possible.

We can pout and stomp (you know, like a toddler) and say golly gee we totally deserve cheaper leads OR we can 1. Get you traffic as efficiently as possible 2. Be ready to adjust strategies based on market conditions 3. Work like to continue to iterate and maximize profitable customer acquisition with change of ads, offers, follow-up strategies, sales strategies, etc. PS: if you just want to pout and stomp there should be a big "x" or red circle in your browser window that'll take you where you need to go ;)

"Isn't Facebook just a bunch of low quality leads?"

Another good question. Short answer, yes, Facebook leads tend to be lower quality than other sources.

Truth is, if you're getting enough volume from referrals and other manual labor methods (organic, Bark or similar services, etc.) to grow at the pace you're looking for then you probably shouldn't lean hard and heavy on FB.

Most folks find that they hit a ceiling where growth requires scale and they'd rather trade dollars for opportunities at scale than spend endless hours on content, networking, or DMing randos on IG.

That said, let's talk about lead quality: We need to set up your model so that you can make money on 10% lead to close.

Translation: if you get 10 folks to give you their name, email, phone number, and a qualifying question or two, we want to be profitable if just ONE of those folks sign up.

That breakdown might look like this:
10 leads
2-3 you never get ahold of at all
2-3 you get ahold of but they're not a fit.
4-5 book a meeting w/ you (consult, starting point, roadmap, strategy session, etc.)
3 show up
1-2 buy (that'd be 10% lead to close if one buys, 20% if two buy)20% lead to close is what we'd consider quite healthy for cold traffic.

10% is where we need to design the model to be profitable. Anything under 10% and we're looking for all the gaps we can and trying to optimize the model (like we've mentioned in the coaching & growth partner comments higher in the letter).

If you spent, say $150 to get those 10 leads, we don't have to charge very much or worry about collecting much cash up front.

If your market is batshit crazy and you had to spend $1000 to get those 10 leads we might have to adjust your offers to collect more cash up front.

We can design both to be wildly profitable, one just might be more difficult to achieve initially.

Long story short, FB leads do tend to be lower quality BUT they're still typically the most predictable, positive, CONTROLLABLE ROI you're going to see (referrals are certainly the best but most training gyms aren't getting 15 referrals to sign up every month like clockwork, right?).

"Do I have to do fake free bait-and-switch offers or stuff I don't feel good about?"

Paron my french but F*******CK no. We're adamantly against bait-and-switch, scammy promotions that ruin your reputation over time (because we want you to be successful, happy, and rich AF for the long term… not for a short quick testimonial where you tell folks how much money you made in 16 weeks but your gym is a ghost town 6 weeks later and you’re looking for jobs because your gym went bankrupt).

Look, even if you COULD be profitable running promos like that (and some folks absolutely have been) and you convince X% of those leads to take you up on "betting on themselves" and "accountability deposits" (because "don't you believe you're gonna lose the weight???")...

Sidebar: how many good, healthy, long term relationships get started by pressure and anxiety? I'll wait…

Anyway, let's say you convice X% of folks to sign up in spite of the bait-and-switch, that still leaves EVERYONE ELSE YOU TALKED TO THAT WALKED OUT THE DOOR thinking… f*** that gym owner, scammy POS, etc.

That "everyone else" has friends, talks to people, comments "it's not free it's $599 don't bother" on your ads, and gradually erodes your reputation until you're just the scammy guy with the overhyped marketing.

I want to be very clear: I don't hate you if you've done these things. Lots of folks were desperate and felt like it was the only way to keep their doors open. The good news: there are an infinite number of other ways to win that BUILD your reputation over time instead of destroying it and we'll work with you personally to find the offers that make the most sense for you and your situation (this is a partnership, not a dictatorship).

"How often do my ads get adjusted?"

Just submit a ticket and we'll put you in the queue to make an adjustment next month… jk jk jk (too soon?)

Unlike most agencies, we're in your account a MINIMUM of 2x/week optimizing, adjusting and testing. Slightly more if the budget is high enough to warrant it. In short, you want "Goldilocks" ad management. Too trigger happy and you kill things before you get accurate and prematurely kill your winners. Too lazy and you end up like every other stinkin' agency you've probably worked with over the years. Goldilocks that shit.

"Can you guarantee my website gets to #1 on Google (in x period of time)?"

Nope. And anyone that tells you that either has no intelligence or no integrity, and neither one is good… run.

What we can do is tell you that we'll set you up in the best position possible to play nice with Google without using Blackhat (marketing term for sleezy, slimy shiz that gets you in trouble w/ Google; OG marketers will remember the days of the dreaded "Google Slap") methods that'll get you in trouble with Google and get your site blacklisted. Again, we think long term.

What this typically means for clients (particularly those with older domains and decent content on their sites) is that we're able to drive up their ranking & standing w/ Google relatively quickly with a professional looking site that performs incredibly well under the hood (we have comparisons of page speed reports of our clients' sites vs. other major players and it's not close), is optimized for local SEO & conversion, and gets you f***ing leads.

It's ABSOLUTELY a slower process for brand new sites. Think of it like starting a new farm: if it's your first time working the land you've got to give the seeds you've planted time to grow. If you're established and your seeds are already planted then it's a matter of throwing digital marketing fertilizer on an already established thing (you're going to see improvements faster than a brand new domain).

"How long until I see results?"

It depends. Some folks come in and absolutely crush month one, but it doesn't always happen that way.

Sometimes markets are harder. Sometimes skills are more lacking. Sometimes more needs to be changed or leveled up. What we tell folks is if you're not happy with the trajectory by the end of month two or three you should probably just fire us (if we don't fire ourselves lol).

Can you make a cash-on-cash ROI immediately, sure! And if you're hurting for cash, we have some strategies where we can work with you to get more aggressive on month 1 cash collected to help make the bank account look a little prettier for you sooner than later.

"Who SHOULDN'T work with GMM?"

Two main categories here: budget & "mindset" (e.g. what you want to do)

Budget wise - we've made it work with startup gyms only doing a few grand a month a few times BUT they had some wiggle room budget-wise to make the paid ads thing work. In short, if you're gonna go bankrupt if you don't make a ton of money in your first month, I'd focus on other organic client-getting methods (you have some fantastic playbooks at BFU for this btw) before you dive into the paid ads side of things.

You're more than welcome to hop on a call and make sure it doesn't make sense (those first calls really are coaching calls disguised as sales convos) and we'll shoot you straight on whether or not we think it makes sense for everyone.

The second group that shouldn't work with GMM are the folks that...
- Aren't willing/ready to follow up with cold traffic and kiss some frogs to find the princes & princesses in their market
- Expect every lead that comes through to show up with their clothes off & credit card out screaming "TAKE MY MONEY AND MY BODY DADDY!" (unfortunately while we're really good, we're not that good)
- Aren't willing/ready to try some different approaches in a marketing partnership (<= key word = partnership)... Scripts, verbiage and processes that work great for referrals and warm leads might need some adjusting to make paid ads profitable.
- Are spending their time looking for reasons to make our partnership fail... story time:

We had one particular individual that was struggling initially with us.

We were getting on calls, working through issues, etc. but it got to the point where this individual was just deeply unhappy and we were racking our brains to try and figure out how to make it work.

At one point in the conversation this person says "Well this person came in and was ready buy, but she worked at a SALON from XYZ part of town... We don't train salon owners. They're not in our target market. We train lawyers and doctors and professionals..."

"Wait so this person bought your $300/month membership?"

"Well, yes..."

Jeeze it sounds a lot like that person is in your target market, aren't they?

Willing to buy, of the right age, needed the help...

But I guess because they didn't have the right job our ad was wrong... (call me crazy but if I got someone who worked at a salon doing hair for dozens others in our target market every week I'd be asking my marketing company to find me MORE of those people, but I digress).

Alas, if you're going to be unhappy or unwilling to serve folks that are in your target demographic, willing to buy, and willing to do the work training with you, and you're going to work like hell to find reasons to be grumpy about that person paying you $300 a month to train in your gym, you're probably better off sticking to the referral/organic game.

Cold traffic isn't magical, you will absolutely have some bad leads, and it won't always be easy. That said, it's still the primary growth avenue that dozens of 7-figure (and even a handful of multi-7-figure gym owners) in our community lean on for consistent, predictable growth over time.

“Alright a**hole, thanks for the novel... what's it gonna cost?”

Ayo - we got here!

The answer we get from gym owners who've been around the block a few times is "not enough," but I digress...

We've got a variety of packages depending on your situation, but the full suite - DFY paid ads, website, and automation suite (with all the other bonuses mentioned above) as of writing this is normally $1800 for your first location, but if you're one of the first 12 folks to sign up from Vince's offer you'll save $500.

You pay FB/Meta for ad spend directly (most gyms sit in the realm of $20/$30 per day to start) and you pay for your phone usage based on how much you use (we don't make anything on this, it's a pass through charge based on how much you're texting/calling - average gym drops about $40-50/month here).

Projects with multiple locations start with the same base rate but get discounts on additional locations under the same brand that vary based on the complexity/similarity of new location (typically 40-50% off for additional locations).

Prices are subject to change over time (for new folks - we do everything we can to honor grandfathered rates of past members and in 5+ years of doing this haven't raised prices on current clients), so if your rates are a bit higher when you get on a call - the best time to sign up was 5 years ago, the next best time is today :)
